Mid Match Analysis - Battle of Wankhede

Hi Cricket Lovers,

Harsha and gang are back again. Let us see what they are talking about in the break after the first innings of the Battle of Wankhede:

Harsha: Hi Folks! Welcome to the mid match analysis of the Battle of Wankhede between The Riders of the Storm and The Invincible Titans. What a match we have on our hands today. Sachin Tendulkar getting his 100th century! I have along with me the incomparable Ravi Shastri.

Ravi: Thanks Harsha. It was a fascinating experience witnessing such greats battling it out in the middle and the little master scoring the century was the icing on the cake.

Harsha: I hope you are not referring to the luscious cake in my plate whose icing you snatched in the drinks break?

Ravi: No Harsha it’s not. It’s one of my harmless old clichés and I think we have Danny Morrison down there with someone.

Harsha: That’s my line Mr. IrritatingRepeaterOfObviousCliches. Otherwise the administrators won’t pay me a buck.  Yeah let’s get down to the middle.

Danny: Hi Harsh. I have with me the one and only Sachin Tendulkar. So Sach how do you feel after scoring the 100th ton?

Sachin: I still feel with my hands and feet Danny! Sorry for the PJ. But seriously, yes Danny I feel great obviously. I would like to thank my fans for being so patient till now. I feel extremely relieved as if something heavy is off my back

Ravi: Sachin, Ravi Shastri here, it was a privilege to witness this match and you achieving the milestone live. Thanks.

Sachin: You are welcome. By the way I had a question. To celebrate my record, my advertisement manager has got offers from Toshiba, Canon and Pepsi for advertisements. Any suggestions on which one is best?

Ravi: I have no idea about advertisements man. Perhaps Dhoni would be able to help you. I would go with Pepsi. It’s my favourite non-alcoholic drink. I wish somebody would give me an advertisement just for experience you know? But before that I have to take some acting tips from Mahi.

Danny: Yeah man I have started going to his classes already. After class MS also treats us with Satthu parathas. Absolutely delicious! You must have noticed the fabulous expressions which I demonstrate in the commentary box right! All thanks to MS.

Harsha: Yes, which is one of the reasons why I stay away from the commentator box. Shall we talk about some cricket now for God’s sake? AB de Villiers hit another half century. He is becoming quite consistent nowadays. What do you think?

Ravi: Yes it was good and its FCBlogger’s world so no surprises here. Well I got to leave now. Here comes Sourav Ganguly.

Harsha: Hi Dada. Thank God you still have your shirt on. I thought you would come searching for one after throwing off yours while celebrating Sachin’s record.

Sourav:  I am not a maniac Harsha as many of you think. I am a part time commentator now and so to keep my reputation I take off my coats nowadays. I also intentionally throw it to a group of my pals in the crowd and have it duly returned to me. Gosh these coats are quite expensive you know?

Harsha: Hmmm yeah they are. I also feel jealous of you. How could FCBlogger give both commentators and cricketers role to you? It’s not fair.

Sourav: Its fictional cricket man. I could be commentating and watching myself bat at the same time. Anything is possible!

Harsha: Wow that’s crossing the heights of fiction. Anyways, Wasim Akram was excellent today, wasn’t he with prodigious swing and control in his spell and toe crushing Yorkers in his last spell?

Sourav: Yes Harsha. Wasim has always been one of my favourite fast bowlers. Now in the second innings I am really looking forward to facing two of the best fast bowlers of their eras.  Saeed Anwar and I have prepared well. Let’s see how it goes! Ok Harsha I got to go now.

Harsha: Thanks Sourav. I feel honoured to have Sunny Gavaskar joining me now. What do you feel Sunny? Do you think the Riders will be able to chase down the challenging total put on by the Titans in this very sporting pitch?

Sunny: The pleasure is mine Harsha. Well according to my opinion the Riders do have a fantastic batting lineup boasting of batsmen like Anwar, Ganguly, Amla, de Silva. But on the other hand the Titans also have outstanding bowlers like McGrath, Steyn, Warne. So it seems the crowd is in for a treat here.

Harsha: Last question before we sign off Sunny. I always maintain a neutral side about the DRS but don’t you think it proved extremely useful today?  I think it should be used by every team around the world despite it not being 100% perfect because although we cannot achieve perfection in life we have to constantly endeavour to improve our life. What do you think?

Sunny: Yes it should be used by every other team when not playing against India because due to some strange reason BCCI does not like it despite it significantly improving the quality of decisions. And no more questions about this to me and Ravi please if FCBlogger does not want to be dragged into a controversy.

Harsha: Hmmm Ok. The poor guy is just an amateur cricket blogger anyways. Thank you folks for bearing us for so long! We will be back for the post match analysis. See you then!
